Consisting of a 12-member all-steel band, Steel Passion delivers a rich fusion of island rhythms, incorporating a diverse repertoire spanning Calypso, Pop, Jazz, Reggae, and even Classical genres. Since its inception in 1991, Steel Passion has been a fixture in the entertainment landscape of the tristate area, captivating audiences with their dynamic performances at prestigious venues such as The Cathedral of St. John the Divine in NYC, Washington Irving Boat Club in Tarrytown, Pete Seeger’s University Settlement Camp in Beacon, and The Ossining Boat House, among others. Val Viera, a longtime Ossining resident, is the tenor 4 bass player to Steel Passion. The Town of Ossining allows filming and photography, with permissions from the property owner and a Town of Ossining Film Permit. Artists and production companies are welcome (and encouraged!) to reach out to the Supervisor’s Office with questions or to discuss their project.
