The Town is looking to appoint Town Residents to the Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) for a five-year term.
The EAC usually meets the first Monday of each month. The committee advises on the development, management, and protection of the Town’s natural resources.
EAC members are appointed by the Board of the Town of Ossining and serve five-year terms with the charge to:
- Help to build awareness and support for the development, management, and protection of Ossining's natural resources.
- When needed, draft environmental ordinances, for consideration by the Town of Ossining, designed to provide protection for natural resources.
- Participate in environmental reviews of proposed projects before the Planning Board to ensure adherence to Town's ordinances, such as the Tree Protection, Wetland Protection, Steep Slope, and other environmental Town ordinances.
No prior experience is necessary, however, a desire to volunteer, help protect, and preserve our local resources are key.
Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and resume to Martha C. Quituisaca in the Town Supervisor's Office at by Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 4:30 PM.
