Happy Spring

We would like to congratulate Briarcliff Mayor Steven A Vescio and trustees Peter Chatzky and Edward Midgley on their reelection.

The Town of Ossining is excited to announce the appointment of our new Tax Assessor Michael Fouassier. Michael comes to us from the NYC Department of Finance Office of Real Property and Tax Operations. We look forward to him officially joining our team in April

This past week the Town Board of the Town of Ossining and the Village of Ossining both passed local laws giving our Volunteer Firefighters and Volunteer EMS workers a 10% reduction on the assessed value of their primary residential real property. Active members of more than two years should contact the Assessor's Office to complete the application before the May 1st deadline. The Town Board recognizes the value and sacrifice of these volunteer service members, thanks them for their service, and is happy to provide this real property tax benefit to those eligible property owners as permitted by State law.

We would also like to remind Senior residents with limited income or disabled persons with limited income exemptions that the maximum income limits for qualification have been increased. You may also now deduct any uncovered medical expenses from your total income making this deduction accessible to many who did not qualify before. Please reach out to the Assessor’s office for more information at 914-762-8274. There is a May 1st application deadline.
