This week has finally given us a taste of summer, and a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy our beautiful Town Parks and outdoor spaces. Luckily, this weekend, we have a wonderful excuse for you to spend time outdoors getting a taste of some of the best trainers and fitness experts Ossining has to offer. After a very successful Health and Wellness Day last weekend, we are excited to introduce the first events of our Mind, Body, Spirit- Ossining Initiative. Coming up this weekend, and many more weekends this summer, the Town has organized these fitness experts to offer you FREE classes at Town and Village parks and community open spaces.
First, this Saturday, May 14th at 10:00 am at Louis Engel Park, Club Fit will be offering a great program for parents and caregivers. Club Fit's "Stroller Babies" class is a walking program designed for parents and their babies - all you need is a stroller, yourself, and your baby. After attending the session, you will have gained great tools for increasing cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, and endurance as you enjoy the benefits of being outdoors next to the beautiful Hudson River. The first 25 participants will receive a Club Fit water bottle and all participants will have a chance to be entered into a summer-long raffle for a Club Fit membership valued at over $200!
Another great session being held this Saturday, May 14th at 11:00 am is with David Garcia, owner of G.E.M. Fitness Systems. Join David, one of Ossining's top fitness experts, at Richard Wishnie Park to learn proper warm-up and exercise techniques, how to plan a workout, and the importance of cooling down. Come to experience a new way to utilize the parks and get a great workout - or get a taste of what G.E.M. Fitness Sytems has to offer the Ossining community and join David at his gym next time!
Finish off your weekend of fitness on Sunday, May 15th back at Louis Engel Park at 9:30 am with Enrique Rosario of ICU Fit Training for his first "Sunday, Fun-day" outdoor training sessions.
