I sure hope that everyone is staying as cool as possible-- it doesn't seem that the heat or humidity will let up any time soon, so please be sure to take all precautions and check on elderly relatives and neighbors.

Due to all of the rain last night and during the past few hours, The Vibe Theory will be playing indoors tonight at 7PM at the Joseph G. Caputo Community Center instead of at Louis Engel Park.

We also have three Mind, Body, Spirit Ossining events this weekend (weather permitting, of course). Tomorrow (Saturday, August 13th), Kendra Rossney of Dragonfly Wellness Yoga Studio will lead a Yoga Flow class down at the waterfront. Check out this all-levels class focused on mindful awareness at 6PM at Louis Engel Waterfront Park.

On Sunday, August 14th, we have two events planned. An early bird? Meet Club Fit Trainer Candice O'Brien at Teatown Lake Reservation for a nature hike along the Twin Lake Trail, a moderately strenuous 2.3 mile loop. This all-level hike kicks off in front of the Nature Center at 8AM. Feel like sleeping in a little? Enrique Rosario will be offering a "Sunday Fun-Day" 30 minute workout at Louis Engel Park at 9:30AM. Please be sure to check the Town of Ossining Facebook page for updates, but as always, if the weather is rough, classes will likely be cancelled.

Earlier this week, my office sent out a letter to the list of properties that our Assessor determined may be eligible to apply for the "phase in" exemption based on their assessment increase, accompanied by a copy of the exemption application. We have already heard from several residents who wish to apply, but have some questions about how to get the data required on the application. In the event that you have misplaced your mailer from earlier this year that details your expected change in assessed value, please call the Office of the Town Assessor at (914) 762-8274 and they can give you the numbers you need.

Here are some other events coming up. I hope everyone is enjoying the Dog Days of Summer-- don't forget to visit the Spray Park at Louis Engel to cool off this weekend, it will be open 11AM-7PM all weekend!

Living a Beatitude Relationship with Mother Earth

Participants will experience each Beatitudes’ relevance to critical social and environmental issues and concerns through a daily presentation, reflection and conversation. We will engage in personal and communal prayer as well as optional integration exercises and action steps.
