A special thank you to the Highway Department for keeping our roads safe during this week’s winter storm. They are ready and waiting to respond to any upcoming hazardous road conditions that may occur from this upcoming storm as well.

We are excited to finally be getting started on the Senior Nutrition Program kitchen. These updates are long overdue. Please keep an eye on the Senior Nutrition schedule for any changes in programming as the kitchen is installed. 

Now a very special congratulations to Tristan Robinson who has won the section one Wrestling Championship Title and earned All State Status. We congratulate him on this win as well as his impressive 138 wins to date.

Please note that it is Petition Season for candidates to get on the ballot for the 2023 Election Season. District leaders will be circulating throughout the community collecting signatures.   

The Town of Ossining is seeking volunteers for the Civilian Police Complaint Review Board (CPCRB)! 

The Town Board is seeking two residents for the Town Board to recommend to the Village of Ossining Board of Trustees to be volunteer members of the Village’s Civilian Police Complaint Review Board, one as a member and one as an alternate member. 

Pursuant to an inter-municipal agreement, the Village of Ossining Police Department provides police services to the Unincorporated Town of Ossining.  

The purpose of the Civilian Police Complaint Review Board is to provide for civilian participation in the review of investigation of complaints made against police officers. Under the Village Code, the eligibility requirements to be on the Civilian Police Complaint Review Board in either a member or alternate member capacity are as follows:

  •         Must be a resident of the Unincorporated Town of Ossining
  •         Must be at least 18 years of age
  •         Must be able to attend at least 75% of Board meetings – which are generally on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m., either in person or via Zoom video conferencing
  •         Must undergo training with the Village Police Department
  •         Cannot be an elected official or employee of the Town or Village, or be an immediate family member of an elected official or employee of the Town or Village
  •         Must be willing to submit to a criminal background check – which results will remain confidential and will be used only for the purpose of determining eligibility
  •         Must not have been convicted of a felony, or have been incarcerated or on probation or parole in the past five years

  • Come out to support our local women owned businesses here in Ossining for our Community Crawl on March 3rd.

  • An exciting pop up art show in Ossining on March 3rd at the Metro North parking lot 

  • Join the Sing Sing Kill Brewery for a comedy night on Friday March 3rd door opens at 7 featuring Tom Daddario, Eddy A Sloshower and Michael Brigante 

  • The Ossining Public Library will be presenting the theater production of Louisa May Alcott performed by actress Prudence Wright Holmes on Thursday March 9th at 7 P.M. at the Budarz Theater.  

  • The Ossining Public Library Sunday afternoon concert series presents Gotham City Latin Jazz Quintet. Join the library for some soothing Jazz. 

 

  • The Ossining Public Library will be presenting Insignificant by Sean Michael Welch on Thursday March 23rd at 7PM

  • Join Mike Risko at their Rock Band Showcase Night, an evening of fun and meeting new bands.
