The Town of Ossining will appoint Kimberlie Jacobs to the Open Town Council Seat

The Town of Ossining will appoint Kimberlie Jacobs to the Open Town Council Seat at a special public meeting of the Town Board on Tuesday May 6, 2008 at 7pm.  The special meeting will be held at 16 Croton Ave. in the Supervisor’s Conference Room on the 3rd floor.  The board will then convene their regular work session, which is open to the public at 7:30pm.

The Ossining Town Council received 14 letters of interest and resumes from residents of the town.  Two applicants withdrew their names prior to the interview process.  All other candidates were interviewed for the position.

“The Town of Ossining is very fortunate to have so many highly qualified individuals who are willing to serve in a public capacity,” said Town Supervisor Martha Dodge.  “It was a difficult decision and I am very pleased with the process and with the Town Board’s final choice.”

Ms. Jacobs is a resident of the Town Outside the Villages.  She is the Executive Director of Community Capital Resources.  Ms. Jacobs’ background includes urban planning, community development, affordable housing financing and planning and financial education.  Ms. Jacobs has been a community volunteer for many years.  Her involvement includes the PTA, the Cub Scouts, Interfaith Council for Action (IFCA) and St. Ann’s Church.
