A Project Sponsored by
Ossining Communities That Care
and The Northern Westchester Shelter

A Safe Haven for Victims of Domestic Violence

The Partnership is comprised of human services agencies, civic organizations and community advocates who live and work in the Town of Ossining, Village of Briarcliff Manor and Village of Ossining. Our mission is to combat domestic violence through community outreach, education, prevention and awareness.

How to become involved...
The next meeting of the Ossining/Briarcliff Manor Partnership is:
Tuesday, February 5th at 9:30am
Town of Ossining Police Department
507 North State Road
Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510

Domestic Violence Awareness Month evolved from the "Day of Unity" in October 1981 conceived by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The intent was to connect advocates across the nation who were working to end violence against women and their children.

In October 1987, the first Domestic Violence Awareness Month was observed. In 1989 the U.S. Congress passed Public Law 101-112 designating October of that year as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Such legislation has passed every year since.

Remembering those who died because of domestic violence, celebrating those who survive, and connecting those who work together to end violence.
